Prep School Scandal - Chapter Ten Preview

I wrapped up writing the manuscript for Prep School Scandal and sent it off to my editors today. Should be ready to publish once we work the kinks out. Just to whet your appetite for the upcoming installment, I'd like to share a steamy scene from chapter ten featuring the sexy and mysterious Edgar Alexander...

Prep School Scandal
Chapter Ten (excerpt)

Jack felt physically exhausted by the time he got home, but he could not sleep. The long walk to the railroad bridge and then back to his house had taken most of the night. He put on his pajamas, brushed his teeth and lay down in bed. He closed his eyes. Sleep still would not come.
It was almost sunrise when he got an unexpected visitor.
His bedroom door creaked open. He opened his eyes to see Edgar standing there, his pale face lit only by coming dawn outside the window. It was like a scene from one of those old black and white horror movies Jack used to watch when he was a kid. The intrusion should have scared him, but he was unafraid. It was just Edgar. He had seen Edgar’s capacity for violence before, but somehow felt that Edgar could never hurt him.
“How did you get in here?” Jack honestly wondered, but Edgar did not answer the question.
“My dad flipped out again,” Edgar said from the doorway. “Can I crash here tonight?”
Jack nodded, unsure how he felt about Edgar spending the night at his house. In his bedroom, apparently. He felt so foolish in his childish striped pajamas.
“I picked that fight with Larsen at the party. That wasn’t right,” Edgar admitted as he sat down on the bed next to Jack. He let out a deep sigh. “I look at him and see all the things I hate in people.”
“You don’t see him for who he really is.” Jack could not forget the image of tears in Larsen’s eyes, the sadness in Larsen’s voice. He wanted to be there for Edgar, but Larsen remained ever present in his thoughts.
“Maybe not.” Edgar shook his head and inched closer towards Jack. “Maybe I’m just jealous?”
“Jealous?” Jack could feel Edgar’s slender thigh brush casually against his own. Edgar’s lips seemed so close to Jack as he spoke.
“You care about Larsen so much. Nobody’s ever cared about me like that. Not even Richard.”
“Relax, Edgar.” Jack stood up to get some blankets from the closet. “Let’s get some rest.”
Edgar lay back across the bed, eying Jack intensely. “Jack, I don’t want to rest.”
Staring into Edgar’s green eyes, Jack realized exactly what he did want.
   “Goodnight, Edgar.”
Jack lay down on the bed. At first he rolled away, facing away from Edgar, trying to hug a pillow. But then he felt Edgar’s hands on him, slipping beneath the loose waistband of his pajama bottoms. No one had ever touched him like that before, the way he sometimes touched himself alone and in private. It felt too good to resist. Neither of them said a word. In the silence of the early morning, Jack forgot everything and surrendered himself completely to the sensations...
